A River Runs Through It: Athabasca River
by Moberly Cabins in Jasper National Park

Blue on Blue: The Athabasca River, looking southwest towards Jasper.

The area now known as the Moberly Cabins was once the site of a fairly large settlement of non-status Indians - about 70 families.
But because they had no treaty, no formal land claims and were ruled not entitled to squatters' rights, they - like many other native peoples - were forced to leave the area when it became part of Jasper National Park.
